Passionate and highly driven, Emily has been practicing makeup since she was 14 years old. A curious ninth-grader looking to find her passion, she took part in her high school’s rendition of “Rent” hoping to explore a potential interest in acting. Having grown up with family and friends in the industry, she was no stranger to the world of theater and production. What she didn’t expect, however, was to fall in love with everything that took place offstage. Watching the makeup artists at work in particular, she was transfixed. From then on, every day after school she would get home and practice makeup for hours after finishing her schoolwork. She would seize every opportunity to perfect her skills, offering to do her friends’ and family’s makeup on both special and everyday occasions. That same year, she began practicing makeup with professional makeup artist Lona Jeffers. Nominated for one primetime Emmy, Lona took Emily under her wing and has been serving as her mentor ever since. Emily first began working in the industry when she was 18, interning with Emmy award recipient Fred Blau at Reel Creations Inc. More recently, Emily has joined IATSE Local 706 and has been working on numerous projects, from photoshoots to TV and Film sets. LA-based, she specializes in both beauty and special effects. With an impressive ability to communicate with clients and an eye for detail, shading and blending, Emily is constantly practicing and perfecting her work. Highly creative and a fast learner, she enjoys every aspect of makeup, and is living her dream life.
